HVAC Ventilation Equipment Keeps your Industrial Facility Comfortable

Many different types of industrial facilities experience hot, cold, or otherwise uncomfortable situations due to the type of products or services they provide. Ventilation equipment can help to heat, cool and provide air circulation for industrial sites; providing necessary relief for workers who must maintain productivity in harsh environments.

What is air ventilation?
Ventilation is simply the process of replacing the air in any space in an effort to remove odors, smoke, moisture, heat, airborne bacteria or dust. Many industrial facilities experience one or more of these adverse conditions during a typical workday. HVAC systems may include both the exchange of air to the outside, as well as the circulation of indoor air. Ventilation through air conditioning equipment or other methods is one of the most important means of maintaining indoor air quality within buildings. The result of a high quality ventilation system is air that is relatively free of unpleasant smells, excess moisture and interior air stagnation.

Most air ventilation systems use forced ventilation through HVAC systems to control air quality. In many areas of the country, humidity and contaminants are controlled simply by dilution with outside air; however, ventilation equipment installed in facilities in humid climates must use a large amount of energy to remove excess moisture from the air.

Not all systems perform with the same efficiency; which is why it is necessary to speak with an air system professional prior to choosing equipment installation. One of the most important characteristics of ventilation equipment is Air Change per Hour (ACH). ACH is the number of times per hour that a specific room’s or building’s volume is removed or supplied from the space, using mechanical ventilation. An air systems professional should be able to give you this type of detailed information during the process of choosing air conditioning and heating equipment.

What type of industrial facilities benefit from ventilation equipment?
In reality, workers in every facility will enjoy a more comfortable work environment if the site is equipped with an efficient, high-performing ventilation system. There are particular types of industries that are particularly suited to industrial ventilation equipment, including:

  • Manufacturing
  • Welding
  • Textiles
  • Aircraft
  • Steel and Refractory Materials Fabrication

Facilities in one of the industries listed above, or in any other sector, can maintain a more comfortable environment by installing the right ventilation system. For assistance or for information about how to order your custom-designed system, contact Custom Air Products at (713) 460-9009.
